Napoleon Lajoie was among the best players in baseball when, 120 years ago this week, he jumped to the American League, almost singlehandedly validating it as a major league enterprise. His decision would be fought in the courts until the leagues made peace, but afterwards he served as the first star in the upstart organization. Mike and Bill look back on Lajoie's career and why, more than a century later, one of the best hitters in baseball history has largely been forgotten.
